Preferences

Parcel Information

Here you are required to enter information about the shipment.

  1. Select Measurement units.
  2. Select Container: If you have previously defined containers they will be available in the drop down list.
  3. Select Oversize, if required: when creating your shipment, if the actual dimensions are not oversize this preference is ignored
  4. Select Mailing Tube, if required
  5. Select Unpackaged, if required: when creating your shipment if unpackaged is not available for the country selected this preference is ignored

On Start-up

To assist in saving time you are able to set your preferences to open up a new shipment automatically each time you start the EST Business Desktop 2.0

1. Select Open New Shipment Window: on start up the New Shipment window will open and a new shipment will be created in the default shipment folder.

2. Click Save

Note: at any time you can click Cancel before completing an action.

On Create Shipment

To assist in saving time you are able to set your preferences when you create a new shipment.

  1. Select Default parcel type to be processed: select the parcel type that will default when you create a new shipment.
    • Standard: your shipment does not currently have an address label or bar code
    • Quickship: You have already printed your own label but do not have a bar code. When creating your order there will be fewer required fields to complete.
    • Pre-labelled: you have already printed your own label with a bar code. Minimal information will be required when creating your order.
    • Prepaid Unlabelled: You have purchased a Prepaid envelope but do not have a label or bar code.
    • Prepaid Labelled: you have purchased a Prepaid envelope and have already printed your own label with a bar code.
  2. Select Display entry field to create multiple copies of a shipment: if this is NOT selected the create quantity will default to 1 and be disabled. If this selected here you will have the option to change the value up to a value of 9999

On Process/Print

To assist in saving time you are able to set your preferences to open a specific window after you Process/Print.

1. Select either:

  • Go back to the shipments list :
    Or
  • Open new/next shipment : on Process/Print the New Shipment window will remain open.

Selecting this will enable you to select the following if required:

    • Clear shipping data : all data will be cleared
    • Clear shipping service options : all options will be cleared, however, if default options have been set they will remain.

2. Click Save

Note: at any time you can click Cancel before completing an action.

Validations

Setting validations allows you to set additional mandatory fields. These will then act the same as other Canada Post mandatory fields:

  • They will appear highlighted in yellow
  • Error messages will display if field is not populated (blank fields are not permitted)

1. Select the required fields

  • Order Id/Reference #1 Required
  • Cost Centre Required
  • Additional Address Information Required

2. Click Save
