How secure is the transmission between the Canada Post server and my company's computer?

Very secure. EST 2.0 uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 256-bit encryption.


How do I know if a proxy server is required?

When you install EST 2.0, you will be asked if you are using a proxy server. Ask your network administrator for guidance on whether one is in place/required.


Are there any services not supported by EST 2.0?

Yes, the following services are not supported:

  • Bookmail
  • Certified Mail (except Xpresspost™ Certified)
  • Business Reply Mail

How do I handle partial mailings?

If you are sending Personalized Mail™, Publications Mail™, Catalogue Mail™ and Neighbourhood Mail™, EST can handle partial mailings. This allows you to specify the date of the mailing at the line item level. When you select the Partial button, the changes made to the Statement of Mailing (SOM) data entry window for Downstream Entry are applied with the exception of the outlet changes.


How many Neighbourhood Mail Delivery Slips (ADS) can I print?

There is no limit to the number of slips you can print, but bundles can only contain a maximum of 200 slips.


Can Neighbourhood Mail bag tags be re-printed?

Yes. Select the Re-print button.

If I am using a scale, how do I enter the weight of an item in EST 2.0?


When I am shipping to the United States, will I be prompted to complete customs forms?

Yes, EST 2.0 will present you with the appropriate forms, and prompt you to provide information according to the service selected.


How do I determine if a Manifest is required?

It is required. EST 2.0 will produce 3 copies of the Manifest.
