Mail Forwarding service limitations

Types of mail included in Mail Forwarding:

  • Lettermail™
  • Registered Mail™ within Canada
  • Magazines addressed to your original address

Types of mail excluded from Mail Forwarding:

  • Parcels (using Canada Post services such as Priority™, Xpresspost™, Xpresspost™ Certified, Expedited Parcel™ and Regular Parcel™)
  • Prepaid envelopes
  • Newspapers and flyers delivered by other parties
  • Personal mail delivered to a business/institution such as an office building, a hospital, nursing home or a hotel
  • Mail received at a shared postal address (for example, when the same address is used by more than 2 businesses)​​
  • Mail sent through a privately administrated mailbox company
  • Mail bearing a "Do not forward" endorsement (it will be returned to sender)

Please note

If you’re expecting parcel deliveries you must advise the sender(s) of your new address, even when you have the Mail Forwarding service in place. For more details, please read the service terms and conditions.
