Why did rates increase?
Rate increases are needed to ensure that we can continue to meet our service obligations to Canadians and address our financial pressures so that they do not become a burden on taxpayers.
Rate increases also allow us to address 3 specific challenges...
- The growing number of addresses we serve. Each year, approximately 200,000 new addresses are added to our network.
- The rising costs of doing business as a result of inflation and other cost pressures.
- The urgent need to maintain and replace outdated equipment to ensure continued high levels of service.
